Membership Terms

How The Standard membership works: billing, renewal, cancellation, points, the garden, services and community conduct.

These terms are published as the working framework for The Standard and have not yet been reviewed by counsel. They describe how the programme is intended to operate and are not legal advice. Please have them reviewed and finalised before membership is offered commercially.

These terms govern your membership of The Standard and your use of the member environment, the virtual garden, Garden Manner services, the experiences programme and the concierge desk. By joining, you accept them.

1. Membership and eligibility

The Standard is a membership programme operated independently of BLOOM House. BLOOM House is The Standard’s official partner; the two are separate organizations. Membership is personal to the named member, is not transferable, and requires a verified account.

Members must be at least eighteen years of age. We may decline or revoke a membership where an application is inaccurate, where these terms are breached, or where required by law.

2. Billing, renewal and cancellation

Members choose a monthly or annual billing cadence. Monthly members are charged each month. Annual members are charged once at the published annual rate, which covers a twelve-month period and sits ten percent below twelve monthly payments.

Memberships renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. Your next renewal date and next charge appear in your membership settings.

You may cancel at any time from your membership settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not make cancellation conditional on contacting us.

Where a payment fails, we will notify you and attempt recovery. Access may be suspended while a payment remains outstanding, and will be restored once the payment succeeds.

3. Refunds and disputes

Refund requests are considered individually against the circumstances of the request and the period already served. Unless required by law or agreed by us in writing, partial periods are not refunded on cancellation.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us before raising a dispute with your payment provider so that we have the opportunity to resolve it.

4. Tier changes

Upgrades and downgrades take effect from the start of your next billing period. The tier that applies to a given period is the tier in force at the start of that period.

5. Membership points

Each tier includes a monthly allocation of membership points. Points are a programme currency for eligible experiences and services. They are not money, do not carry a cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not a stored-value or deposit product.

Points are credited under the published crediting schedule once the relevant billing and subscription conditions are met. Points are recorded in a permanent ledger. Duplicate credits from repeated requests, refreshes or retried payment events are prevented.

Points may be redeemed only against eligible items published by The Standard. Where an adjustment or correction is required, it is recorded against your ledger with a reason and an audit entry.

6. The virtual garden

Your garden is a record of verified member activity. Growth is awarded only after the underlying activity has been validated on our side, and awards are limited and de-duplicated so that no activity is credited twice.

Garden growth is separate from membership points. It has no monetary value. Missing a day does not damage your garden, and a garden is never forfeited by inactivity.

You decide whether any part of your garden is private or shareable.

7. Garden Manner service requests

Garden Manner provides lifestyle grooming and personal assistance for members. Submitting a request does not create a confirmed appointment. An appointment exists only once The Standard has verified availability and the applicable operational requirements and the request moves to Confirmed.

Requests may be declined where availability, eligibility or operational requirements are not met. Cancellation and rescheduling of confirmed appointments follow the published policy.

8. Experiences and concierge

Experiences are published with a date, place and capacity. Capacity is limited and places are allocated in the order received, with a waitlist where appropriate. Attendance records are kept against your account.

Concierge requests are recorded with a category, priority, status and assigned staff member. Internal notes are visible only to assigned staff; member-visible messages are visible to you.

9. Community conduct

The Social Grove is members-only. You are responsible for what you publish, and you must not use it to harass, defame, deceive or spam other members, or to publish another person’s private information.

We provide blocking, reporting, muting and moderation tools. We may remove content, restrict a member’s visibility or suspend an account where conduct breaches these terms.

10. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. On deletion we remove your personal profile, private notes, tasks, messages and garden customisation. Records we are required to retain — including financial and points records — are retained in a restricted form for the period required by law, and are not used for any other purpose.

11. Limits of our responsibility

We provide the programme with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, for services performed by third parties outside our control, or for events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the programme, to the services offered, or to the law. Where a change materially affects your membership we will notify you before it takes effect, and you may cancel before the change applies.
